Ubuntu 9.10
I haven’t posted any tech articles in a long time so I wanted to take a few moments to update everyone on my Ubuntu usage. I have my laptop dual booted with WinXP SP3 and Ubuntu 9.10… best decision I ever made, and I am thinking of killing my XP partition to save some much needed HDD space.
I have been using Ubuntu at home most exclusively. It has been a little harsh getting used to some of the native Linux apps, but its mostly because my handy dandy Windows shortcuts are slightly different in Ubuntu. As an example, in Windows I often use Win+D to miminize all windows; on Ubuntu the sequence is Ctrl+Alt+D… and I have found myself trying to use this in Windows now
My latest complaint is I couldn’t get Amarok’s Last.fm scrobbler to work, so I updated to the latest version (2.2.2) and it seems that it still wouldn’t work. My work around was to install Qmmp and enabling the scrobbler plugin; After a reboot the scrobble function is working and I am a happy camper.
