Don’t lose those memories!
Have you ever suffered data loss from your PC at home? It can be frustrating trying to retrieve all those photos and documents, and its even more frustrating if you can’t. Time and time again, people need their PCs repaired and they don’t have a backup of any of their files, and they always say something along the lines of “can you at least save my pictures?”
This is an ever so common situation and if people performed a simple semi-regular backup, then a lot of stress can be avoided. It only takes a few minutes to back things up, and you can even have software that will automatically backup your files on a regular basis. Two examples of great freeware that are available is FBackup and SyncBack SE. Both of them are easy to use and can be setup so no interaction is needed after the initial setup. Continue reading below for a short walk through on using FBackup on your PC.
The first time you run FBackup you are greeted by a simple Backup & Restore getting started screen. They couldn’t have made it any easier… just click on Backup to begin the process. Since this is the first time using the application, click on New for a new backup. The next screen asks you to name the backup, chose the backup location and files to backup.
On the next screen you want to add your files and folders, so simply click the add buttons at the bottom of the screen to add your files.
When you have all your files and folders selected, click Next and then Next again. Now you can schedule your backup to run automatically or just keep the default value of Manually and it will only run this one time. Then click on the Save button; if you select Save and Run your files should begin to backup.
That’s all there is to it.
